Privacy Policy

Check In uses the information needed to create your account, connect you with people you choose, schedule check-ins, and provide calls. We do not sell personal information or use it for cross-app advertising tracking.

Information we process

• Account and profile: phone number, name, birth date, nickname, profile photo, friend code, mood, and account identifiers.
• Connections and check-ins: friend and group relationships, invitations, schedules, participation, blocks, and reports.
• Calendars: if you opt in, Apple calendar event identifiers, titles, start/end times, and all-day status are uploaded to help avoid conflicts. Google Calendar authorization and event availability are handled by our service. You can disconnect calendars in the app.
• Calls and voice postcards: camera and microphone media, call participants, timing, and call-quality metadata are processed to provide voice and video calls. Check In does not offer call recording or transcription. Voice postcards you choose to send are stored privately for the selected recipient and expire automatically after 30 days.
• Devices and diagnostics: notification and VoIP tokens, device identifiers used by calling services, crash reports, performance information, and technical logs.

How we use information

We use information for authentication, profiles, friend and group features, scheduling, notifications, calls, safety, support, reliability, fraud prevention, and legal compliance.

Service providers

We use service providers, including Amazon Web Services for authentication and application infrastructure, Stream for calling, Apple for notifications and device services, Google when you connect Google Calendar, and Sentry when diagnostics are enabled. They process information under their respective agreements and our instructions.

Choices and retention

Calendar, camera, microphone, and notification access are optional and controlled in device Settings. You may block or report users, disconnect calendars, and request account deletion in the app. We retain information only as needed for the service, safety, legal obligations, and resolution of disputes; provider backups may take additional time to expire.

Children and international use

Check In is not directed to children under 13. Information may be processed in countries other than your own, subject to applicable safeguards.
